This notice explains what this website collects about visitors, why, and the choices you have. In this notice, “we” means TruTim (Rate-My-Agent).

Who is responsible

TruTim (Rate-My-Agent) is responsible for the personal information this website collects.

TruTim (Rate-My-Agent) builds and runs this website for Max. It uses visitors’ information only as this notice describes.

TruTim also runs the Google Analytics account for this website. It receives the visit data and uses it for its own purpose too, described below. To ask TruTim about that data, contact privacy@trutim.com.

What this website collects

• Visit records. Vercel hosts this website. To deliver the pages and keep the website secure, its servers record your IP address, your browser and device type, and the pages you open. Vercel can keep these records outside Canada, including in the United States.
• Fonts. To show the text in this website’s typefaces, the pages load their fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser sends your IP address to Google, which can process it outside Canada.
• Google Analytics. See the next section.
• Forms. See the next section.
• Contact card. The Save contact link and the QR code open Max’s contact card, a file on this website. Vercel records the download like any other page visit. Google Analytics counts a tap on the Save contact link as a download.

When you ask Max to call or text you

This website has two short forms: one to request a phone call at a time you pick, and one to ask Max to text you back.

• What the forms collect. Your name, your mobile number, the topic you pick, and the message you type, if any. The call form also collects the time you pick and, on a team website, the person you want to talk to. Each form also sends the page you sent it from, the website that sent you here (without the rest of its address), and, if you came from an ad, the ad’s tracking tags in the page address.
• Why. Only so Max can call or text you about your request. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use what you send for advertising.
• Who receives it. Your request goes to Max. Rate-My-Agent stores it and emails it to Max. If Max has text alerts on, it also sends Max a short text that a request came in. The emails go through SendGrid, which processes them for us. The text alert to Max goes through Telnyx and does not include your name, number or message.
• No automatic messages to you. Neither this website nor Rate-My-Agent sends you texts or emails. Only Max contacts you, about your request.
• Where it is kept. On Rate-My-Agent’s servers in Toronto, Canada. SendGrid can process the email outside Canada, including in the United States, and authorities there may be able to get access to it.
• How long. For as long as Max has a Rate-My-Agent account. We delete it sooner if you ask, and within 90 days after Max’s account closes.
• Your agreement. When you send a form, you agree that Max may call or text you about your request. You can tell Max to stop at any time.
• Your choices. To see, correct or delete what you sent, use the contact at the end of this notice.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a service from Google, to count visits and to see how people use the site.

• Google Analytics puts cookies in your browser. A cookie is a small file that lets the site tell one visit from the next.
• It collects the pages you open (also when a page changes without loading again), the time of your visit, the website that sent you here, and your device and browser type.
• It also records when you scroll to the end of a page, when you download a file such as Max’s contact card, when you play a YouTube video on this website, and when you click a link to another website. For a link to another website, it records only the address of the link.
• It does not record what you type in a form or a search box.
• Google uses your IP address to estimate your city, region and country. Google says it then discards the IP address.
• The site also counts taps on the Call and Text buttons. It does not send your phone number or your messages to Google.
• We do not send your name, phone number or email address to Google Analytics. If a web address holds an email address, Google Analytics removes it before it keeps the address.
• If you visit from Quebec, the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a banner asks whether you accept Google Analytics cookies. Until you accept, Google Analytics puts no cookies in your browser, but it may still count your visit without a cookie. If you decline, Google Analytics stops for this website in this browser. To know whether to show the banner, the page asks Vercel for the country and province or state of your internet connection. The page does not keep the answer, and Vercel records the request like any other page visit.

The information has two purposes. It shows Max how many people visit and which pages help them get in touch. TruTim also uses it to understand traffic and searches across all the agent websites it runs. Neither Max nor TruTim uses it for advertising. Google does not use this data to show you ads or to link it to your Google account. TruTim has also turned off the setting that lets Google use this data for its own products and services.

Google keeps this data on its servers, which can be outside Canada, including in the United States. Authorities in those countries may be able to get access to it.

Google Analytics deletes the details of each visit after 2 months. Totals, such as visits per month, stay.

How to turn off Google Analytics

You can turn off Google Analytics for this website in this browser, on a phone or a computer.

This browser keeps your choice. Some browsers, such as Safari on iPhone, clear it if you do not visit this website for 7 days. If that happens, turn analytics off again here. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. On a computer, you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The website works the same when analytics is off or cookies are blocked.
